Set-up and Maintenance Fees

What costs can I expect when setting up and operating a Dutch company that does business in the Netherlands?

The most important fees for Dutch limited companies when setting up a business in the Netherlands are:

  1. Dutch Notary Registration Fees (there are no separate (significant) registration fees in the Trade Register (‘Handelsregister’) of the Chamber of Commerce (‘Kamer van Koophandel’);
  2. Costs associated with accounting and financial reporting (for example, preparation of annual reports);
  3. Consulting fees on income tax compliance matters  (e.g. preparation of corporate income tax returns);
  4. Payroll administrative fees (such as preparing payroll tax returns);
  5. Consulting fees on VAT compliance issues (e.g. VAT return preparation);
